How does the site work?

Products Worth the Hyperfixation — an independent product investigation platform built by and for neurodivergent people. Every investigation is done by someone who could not let the rabbit hole go. No sponsors, no gifted products, no ads. Ever.

Reviews online are mostly ads wearing a trench coat. An investigation is a deep dive with the method disclosed at the top: what was investigated, for how long, and compared against what.

The verdict comes first — Worth it, Not worth it, or Depends — with a Worth It At call: full price, on sale, under a specific dollar amount, or skip it entirely. No scrolling past someone’s life story to find the answer.

Every investigation also rates what most reviews ignore: setup cost (executive function tax), sensory load, routine friction, and hyperfixation durability — is it still in use in week three, or in the graveyard drawer?

The verdict and a preview of every investigation are free for everyone, always. Free accounts get 2 full reports a month.

Members get every full report, the community forum, investigation requests, bookmarks, and daily price-drop alerts. $70/year (2 months free) or $8/month, after a 7-day trial — no card needed. The first 200 paying members lock in $5/month forever.

Free review platforms are paid for by the brands being reviewed. That is the entire problem with them. PWTH. is paid for by readers, so no brand ever gets a say. The whole list:

1. Memberships. $70/year or $8/month after the free trial. Members fund the platform so nobody else can.

2. Affiliate links — always disclosed. Some investigations link to the product’s website or Amazon. Links are added after the verdict is written, disclosed on every page, and investigators are paid the same whether you buy or not. A “Not Worth It” verdict never becomes a purchase push.

3. Tips. Members can tip investigators. 100% of every tip goes to the investigator.

4. Investigation request fees. Members can pay to have a specific product investigated: $25 flat + $25 per hour of research, $50 minimum. Payment is held and released to the investigator when the report is delivered; refunded if nobody accepts within 5 business days.

What we never do: sponsored content, gifted-product reviews, brand deals, paid placements, or display ads. The tagline is not decoration.

Members can request an investigation of anything. Standard requests are free and go into the pickup pool for any investigator to claim. Expedited requests are paid ($25 flat + $25/hour, $50 minimum), can only be accepted by Lead Investigators, and come with a committed 14-day turnaround from acceptance. If nobody accepts within 5 business days, you get a full refund.

When your request is accepted, a private conversation opens with your investigator, and the finished report is published on the investigations page.

Rookie — every investigator starts here. Can research, write, and publish investigations, and accept standard requests.

Investigator — 4 published investigations. Unlocks expanded request visibility.

Lead Investigator — 8 published investigations plus admin approval. Can accept expedited, member-paid requests and earn payment for completed research.

Save any investigation and set a price threshold (or just “any drop”). We check prices daily and notify you the moment it hits the number where it is actually worth buying — which is often the investigator’s “Worth It At” price.
